

Simon Fraser is a passionate Creative Professional Horticulturalist with a deep foundation in the arts. He proudly holds a BA in Fine Arts from the University of the Arts London, where he specialised in photography and sculpture, nurturing both his technical skills and artistic flair. Recently, he expanded his expertise with an MA in Theatre Design from Wimbledon College of Art, focusing on innovative material research and the sensory facets of performance design. Simon's journey in theatre is marked by rapid advancement and well-deserved recognition in the industry. As a Design Assistant at The Bush Theatre, he played a vital role in numerous high- profile productions and had the opportunity to design part of the front- of- house space during their exciting 2019 season announcement. His design debut, Fast Love at Theatre 503, made a successful transfer to The Lion and Unicorn Theatre, showcasing his talent. Simon is committed to growing his profile through collaborations with industry leaders, including Mark Ravenhill, the Artistic Director of The King' s Head Theatre. His recent production, Rapture, had a wonderful three- week run at the renowned Pleasance Theatre, highlighting his knack for delivering work that is both commercially viable and critically engaging. In 2020, he penned the critically acclaimed play Avalanche, directed by Alistair Wilkinson, which premiered at The Bush Theatre and gained fantastic digital traction in 2021. This remarkable achievement led to the company receiving Arts Council funding for a four-week research and development period, a true testament to their innovative approach and potential within the industry. Beyond the stage, Simon brings extraordinary value through his professional background in horticulture and garden design. His experience in spatial design, materials, and creating environmental harmony directly enhances his theatre work, infusing organic authenticity and refreshing perspectives into set design. With a Level 1 Garden Design qualification and ongoing training in floristry, he is uniquely equipped for immersive, nature-integrated productions. Add to this his specialisation in photography, which enriches any creative team with professional documentation, promotional materials, and visual storytelling capabilities that cater to both artistic and marketing needs.
